The Client

The Quran, preserved meticulously for centuries, faces a new challenge in the digital age: unverified online representations. Without a regulatory body overseeing Quranic text on digital platforms, distortions and inaccuracies have become widespread. To counter this, the Digital Quran Project integrates AI technology to verify Quranic text authenticity, ensuring that digital versions remain true to the sacred scripture.

The Problem

As reliance on digital platforms grows, the absence of standardized verification raised concerns:

  • Variability in Quranic Calligraphy and Dialects: Differences in Arabic script, diacritics, and dialect-based variations can lead to misinterpretations.
  • Error-Prone OCR Technologies: Traditional Optical Character Recognition (OCR) struggles with handwritten or stylized Arabic text, leading to inaccuracies.
  • Lack of Digital Oversight: Unlike printed Qurans, which undergo strict verification, digital copies often lack authoritative approval.
